Celebrated singer Lydia Gray and guitarist Ed Eastridge take the stage for "Summer Samba”, an incorporation of a sensual Brazilian vibe to familiar songs by Carole King, Brian Wilson and Burt Bacharach as well as other American and Brazilian Jazz classics, including Jobim, with a breezy, laid back style and intimate arrangements for which Lydia and Ed are known. In concert the duo, joined by Marcus Copening on the drums and Andy Bourke on the bass, promise an evening that will delight the senses and relax the mind.
Lydia Gray has performed across the United States and the Caribbean including New York City’s famed Algonquin’s Oak Room and Cafe Pierre, and was nominated for the MAC award for Female New Debut. Lydia has two critically acclaimed albums and carries on a musical legacy as the daughter of Betty Johnson Gray. Ed Eastridge is a classical and jazz guitarist as well as award winning producer who has worked with artists including Sheryl Crowe, Emmylou Harris and Wynton Marsalis, among others.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit the programs at Court Street Arts.
