The Pine Hill Singers celebrate their first “20 Years of Song”! These inspiring concerts celebrate their history, their future as a choral organization, and, most importantly, the joy they find in making beautiful music together as a community of women singers.
The chorus was formed by founding director Barbara Geissinger with ten women who met in her Littleton living room. Her husband Warren accompanied and also occasionally arranged music for them. In 2006, they entrusted the direction of the Pine Hill Singers to Judy Abbott, and the piano accompanying to Joyce Roy. Judy, along with the group’s current pianist, Anita Bonnevie, continues their tradition of musical excellence.
Now 24 strong, the singers are of diverse ages, musical abilities, backgrounds and perspectives. Over the years, their thematic concerts have featured an eclectic variety of music from classical to contemporary, Broadway to pop, patriotic to global, and strive to promote social justice, community singing – and fun! Many of their concerts benefit and promote local non-profits. Each of the last 8 years they have contributed awards to musically talented high school graduates throughout northern NH and VT.
These retrospective concerts, “20 Years of Song”, will feature an inspiring mix of the singers’ and audiences’ favorite songs over the years. Joining us on stage will be alumnae, local instrumentalists and many of our young award winners. Come celebrate the Pine Hill Singer’ 20th anniversary!
